Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Farmers Security Scheme

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister`s Farmers Security Scheme was introduced by the Government of Tamil Nadu through G.O.Ms.No.265, Revenue (L.R.1(2) Department), dated September 10, 2011. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and social security to landless agricultural labourers, farmers, and cultivating tenants. It came into effect on September 10, 2011, and offers cash assistance under various welfare programmes to registered members. There is no registration fee to become a member of the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

The scheme is open to registered and unregistered cultivating tenants between 18 and 65 years of age who personally cultivate land not exceeding:

- 2.50 acres of wet land, or

- 5 acres of dry land

The following family members, provided they have no independent source of income, are considered dependents under the scheme:

- Spouse (Husband or Wife)

- Children

- Wife and children of a deceased son

- Parents

Registered members are eligible to receive financial assistance under various welfare measures, including:

- Educational Assistance

- Marriage Assistance for Members

- Marriage Assistance for Members` Children

- Natural Death and Funeral Assistance

- Accidental Death and Funeral Assistance

- Temporary Incapacitation Pension

- Orphan Pension
