Devotees are advised to undertake Girivalam during this period, as it has been designated by the temple administration as the most auspicious time for the holy pilgrimage.

Every month, thousands of devotees visit Tiruvannamalai to perform Girivalam on the full moon day, believing that walking around the sacred hill during Pournami brings spiritual blessings and divine grace.
