TVK to Unveil Candidates at Mamallapuram Meeting on March 27
With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23, political activity has intensified across the state. Amid this, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is set to hold its candidate introduction meeting on March 27 in Mamallapuram.
According to sources, actor-turned-politician Vijay, the party’s leader, will introduce the first list of candidates on stage and address the gathering. Around 110 candidates are expected to be announced in the initial phase.
The party has already declared its intention to contest all 234 constituencies independently, making it a key player in what is expected to be a four-cornered contest involving major parties like DMK, AIADMK, and Naam Tamilar Katchi.
While candidate selection is still ongoing for several constituencies, there are indications that Vijay may contest from the Perambur constituency in North Chennai.
The candidate announcement event is seen as a crucial step in TVK’s preparations, as nomination filing is set to begin on March 30, with vote counting scheduled for May 4.
