LPG Subsidy: Biometric e KYC Mandatory From October 1

Consumers who receive LPG cylinders at subsidised prices are required to complete biometric verification as part of the e-KYC process. The current deadline for completing this process ends today, September 30, 2026.

Consumers who fail to complete the verification may not be able to receive LPG cylinders at the subsidised rate. They may also face difficulties while booking their next cylinder, depending on the applicable rules.

Biometric e-KYC for LPG Consumers

Indian oil marketing companies have made e-KYC verification mandatory to help prevent fraudulent LPG connections and ensure that subsidy benefits reach eligible consumers.

Consumers who have not yet completed the process have been advised to complete their biometric e-KYC by this evening.

According to oil company officials, around 90% of consumers have already completed the e-KYC process, while approximately 10% of consumers are yet to complete it.

Officials have also indicated that, as LPG is an essential service, additional time may potentially be provided to consumers who have not yet completed the verification.

Consumers who have not completed their biometric e-KYC are therefore advised to check with their respective LPG distributor or oil marketing company regarding the applicable deadline and complete the process at the earliest.
