The Chennai Meteorological Department has announced that several parts of Tamil Nadu may receive moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and strong winds until June 1, 2026. The weather change is due to upper air cyclonic circulation prevailing over the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal regions.

According to the forecast, isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are likely to experience rainfall along with gusty winds during the coming days. Fishermen have also been warned about strong winds reaching up to 60 kmph over coastal and sea regions.

At the same time, temperatures continue to remain high across the state. Vellore recorded the highest temperature at 106.7°F, followed by Chennai Meenambakkam at 105.98°F and Madurai at 102.92°F.
