Chennai Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Likely on November 1 and 2

Chennai may receive significant rainfall on November 1 and 2 as a fresh low-pressure system is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal. According to weather experts, the system could intensify and move towards northern Tamil Nadu, potentially bringing widespread rainfall to Chennai and nearby districts.

New Low-Pressure System Over the Bay of Bengal

Favourable weather conditions are developing over the Bay of Bengal for the formation of a new low-pressure system. If the system strengthens into a cyclone, it could move towards the northern parts of Tamil Nadu, with a possible landfall along the coast between Chennai and Andhra Pradesh.

However, meteorologists have cautioned that the system`s exact direction, intensity and landfall location cannot yet be predicted accurately.

Chennai Rain Forecast for November 1 and 2

Dr VR Durai, Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, said current weather models indicate that the system could move towards northern Tamil Nadu. He added that the rainfall prospects would depend on the system`s movement after it develops.

If the system moves towards the Cauvery Delta region, several parts of Tamil Nadu could receive good rainfall. If it moves towards Chennai and Andhra Pradesh, Chennai could also experience significant rainfall.

Weather Experts Await Further Updates

Weather forecaster R Hemachandran, popularly known as Delta Weatherman, said the possibility of the low-pressure system forming appeared strong. A clearer picture of its development and potential rainfall impact was expected to emerge as weather models provided further information.

The system`s intensity and movement will determine the amount of rainfall Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu may receive.

Chennai Residents Await Rain

The latest forecast has raised hopes of rainfall in Chennai after Cyclone Arnab moved towards Andhra Pradesh and further north without bringing the anticipated rainfall to the city and several other parts of Tamil Nadu.

Residents are advised to monitor official updates from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, for the latest rainfall forecasts and weather warnings.
