Tamil Nadu Weather: Heavy Rain Expected in 11 Districts Today

Chennai: The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu today, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

Heavy Rain Expected in 11 Districts

According to the weather forecast, Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai and Tiruchirappalli districts may receive heavy rain today.

The Karaikal region is also likely to experience heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

Moderate Rain in Several Districts

The weather department has also forecast moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in parts of Tamil Nadu, including the Western Ghats districts, Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Karur, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Madurai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi.

Puducherry may also receive moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

In Chennai and its suburban areas, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy today. Residents can expect generally cloudy conditions, while rainfall conditions may vary across different parts of the city.
