Special Buses to Operate for Three-Day Holiday Weekend: 4,260 Services Planned

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has announced that 4,260 special buses will be operated ahead of Krishna Jayanthi and the weekend holidays.

According to a statement issued by the State Express Transport Corporation, special buses will be operated in addition to the regular daily services from Chennai to various destinations and from other locations to different parts of the state.

Accordingly, 910 special buses will operate from Chennai Kilambakkam to destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur on Thursday (September 3). Another 740 special buses will operate on Friday (September 4), followed by 880 buses on Saturday.

From Chennai Koyambedu, 115 special buses will operate on Friday and another 115 on Saturday to destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru. Services will also be operated from these destinations.

Similarly, 200 special buses are planned to operate from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode and Coimbatore to various destinations.

From Madhavaram, 95 special buses will operate each day on Friday and Saturday to destinations including Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Vellore, Hosur and Puducherry.

In addition, 805 special buses will be operated on Sunday (September 6) from various locations, based on passenger demand, to facilitate the return journey of people from their hometowns to Chennai and Bengaluru.

A total of 4,260 special buses are planned to be operated during the holiday period, according to the statement.
