In a major initiative to support senior citizens and persons with disabilities, the Government of India has inaugurated three new Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendras (PMDKs) in Chennai. These centres will provide a wide range of assistive devices and rehabilitation aids completely free of cost to eligible beneficiaries.

- Knee braces
- Walking sticks
- Commode wheelchairs
- Commode stools
- Behind-the-ear hearing aids

Free Benefits for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)
Persons with disabilities can visit the centres with:

- UDID Card
- Ration Card
They can avail themselves of various assistive devices, including:
