Chennai One App Update Makes Bus Travel Easier for Monthly Pass Users
A new update has been introduced in the Chennai One to improve convenience for monthly public transport users in Chennai.
The Chennai One app was launched last year to integrate different modes of public transport on a single platform. Through the app, passengers can access tickets for city buses, suburban trains, MRTS services, and metro rail in Chennai.
More than 10 lakh passengers are currently using the app. The platform also allows users to purchase and renew monthly bus passes worth ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 by uploading their photo and payment details.
Earlier, passengers using the monthly pass had to enter the bus number in the app every time they boarded a bus, which many commuters found inconvenient.
Following complaints from passengers, the Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority announced that passengers only need to show the monthly bus pass in the app to the conductor, and entering the bus number is no longer required.
The new change has been widely welcomed by commuters as it simplifies the use of monthly travel passes.
