Air India Express has announced the expansion of its domestic network with the launch of new flight services between Chennai and Madurai and Coimbatore and Mumbai, effective September 1, 2026. The expansion is part of the airline`s strategy to strengthen connectivity between major cities and key business, tourism, and pilgrimage destinations across India.
With the latest additions, Air India Express will expand its network to 64 destinations, including 48 domestic and 16 international locations.
New Air India Express Flights in Tamil Nadu
From September 1, the airline will operate:
- Two daily flights between Coimbatore and Mumbai
- One daily flight between Chennai and Madurai
Bookings are now open through the Air India Express website, mobile app, and authorised booking channels.

Arrival: 11:10 AM & 12:05 AM

Departure: 6:20 AM & 7:10 PM

Chennai – Madurai
Departure: 11:50 AM

Air India Express Expands Domestic Network
In addition to the Tamil Nadu routes, Air India Express will also launch new services to:
- Aurangabad
- Jamnagar
- Jodhpur
- Tirupati
The airline said the expansion is aimed at improving connectivity between metro cities and important business, tourism, and religious destinations across the country.
Additional Delhi Services
Starting September 1, Air India Express will also introduce additional daily flights from Delhi to:
- Bhubaneswar
- Kochi
- Patna
- Varanasi
The new routes and increased frequencies are expected to provide passengers with greater travel flexibility while strengthening the airline`s growing domestic network.
