IMD Predicts Heavy Rain in Three Tamil Nadu Districts on July 2

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in the Nilgiris, Theni, and Coimbatore districts on July 2. Heavy rain is also likely in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, and Kanniyakumari on the following day.

For Chennai and its suburbs, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas during the evening and night. The city`s maximum temperature is likely to be around 37°C, while the minimum temperature may range between 28°C and 29°C.

The IMD has also warned of strong winds over the Gulf of Mannar, the South Tamil Nadu coast, the Kumari Sea, parts of the southwest Bay of Bengal, the central-west Bay of Bengal off the Andhra coast, and the Andaman Sea. Fishermen have been advised to exercise caution due to wind speeds that could reach 60–65 kmph in some areas.
