Tamil Nadu Census 2027: Over 1.61 Lakh Staff to Conduct Survey Across 38 Districts

The Tamil Nadu government has announced that more than 1.61 lakh personnel will be deployed for the Census 2027 exercise across the state. The population census will cover 38 districts, 15,437 villages and 651 towns and cities.

According to a government statement, the census exercise will involve approximately 1,41,083 enumerators and 20,467 supervisors to ensure the collection of accurate population data.

Public Urged to Cooperate with Census Officials

The government has urged residents across Tamil Nadu to cooperate with census personnel and provide complete and accurate information in response to the questions included in the prescribed questionnaire.

The participation of every household is important to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the population census.

Self-Enumeration Facility in January 2027

Households will also have the option of submitting their information through a dedicated online self-enumeration portal.
