Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Appoints Alejandro Rodriguez Cuadra as Head of R&D

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has appointed Alejandro Rodriguez Cuadra (Alex) as its new Head of Research & Development. He will also serve as Global Head of Engineering Backbone at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, focusing on strengthening international engineering collaboration, harmonizing processes and integrating India’s engineering capabilities into Daimler Truck’s global engineering network.

With extensive international experience across Europe and Asia, Alejandro has held senior leadership roles in manufacturing engineering, production preparation, ramp-up management and R&D. He previously worked in Japan and India, where he strengthened lean and Kaizen practices, and at FUSO Japan, where he supported major vehicle launches including the eCanter electric truck.

In his new dual role, Alejandro will strengthen collaboration between DICV, Daimler Truck Innovation Centre India (DTICI) and Mercedes-Benz Trucks, supporting the engineering requirements of the India, South-East Asia and Australia-Pacific (ISEAA) region.
