Revature hosts AI education summit in Chennai, aims to make India global hub for AI engineers

Chennai: Revature, an AI-Native Talent Transformation Platform, hosted the `AI Academy In a Box - National Summit on the Future of Indian Engineering Education in the Age of AI` in Chennai on Thursday. The event brought together representatives from over 40 leading educational institutions, along with industry leaders, policymakers, NASSCOM, NIELIT, ETS, and employers.

Rajya Sabha MP and former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla attended as the chief guest and unveiled Revature`s flagship report, "Engineering India`s Next Engineer." He urged educational institutions to adopt industry-focused curricula and called for a nationally coordinated effort to prepare AI-ready engineering talent, describing it as India`s "UPI moment" for AI.

NIELIT Director General Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi highlighted the growing importance of AI across industries and stressed the need for stronger collaboration between academia and industry to improve graduate employability.

Revature Co-founder and Chairman Ashwin Bharath said engineering education must evolve rapidly to match changing industry demands, while CEO Tan Moorthy said India has the potential to become the world`s leading supplier of AI-native engineers through closer partnerships between universities and industry.
