Chennai Metro to Add Anti-Drag Safety Feature, Digital Route Maps by September

Passengers travelling on the Chennai Metro Rail Limited network will soon benefit from enhanced safety and convenience, as Chennai Metro plans to install anti-drag door safety systems and digital route maps in all existing trains by September.

The anti-drag feature automatically stops the train and reopens the door if a saree, shawl, dupatta, or any object gets trapped while the doors are closing. CMRL is currently upgrading its existing fleet and will include this safety feature in all future Phase 2 Metro trains.

At the same time, digital route maps are being installed to help passengers and tourists navigate Chennai Metro routes more easily
