As part of the ₹842 crore Chennai Egmore Railway Station redevelopment project, a new multi-level parking facility has been opened on the Gandhi-Irwin Road side to improve passenger convenience and traffic management.
The modern facility offers:
- Parking space for cars and two-wheelers
- EV charging stations
- CCTV surveillance
- Automated parking systems
- Toilets and luggage lockers
- Lifts with disabled-friendly access
Railway officials said the new parking structure is designed to handle increasing passenger traffic while providing safer and more organised parking facilities.
Meanwhile, another similar multi-level parking facility is currently under construction on the Poonamallee High Road side as part of the station’s ongoing modernization works.
