Chennai EMU Services Disrupted on Arakkonam Route from April 19–26
Suburban train services in Chennai will be affected on the Chennai Central–Arakkonam route from April 19 to 26 due to maintenance work at the Arakkonam yard.
According to railway officials, line blocks have been scheduled in two time slots—12:45 AM to 2:15 AM and 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM—from April 20 to 25, impacting multiple EMU services.
On the Tiruttani–Arakkonam section, two late-night EMU trains departing Tiruttani at 9:15 PM and 11:10 PM will remain fully cancelled between April 19 and 25. In the return direction, early morning services from Arakkonam at 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM will not operate from April 20 to 26.
Additionally, several trains will be partially cancelled between April 20 and 25. A Moore Market Complex–Arakkonam EMU departing at 11:00 AM will run only up to Tiruvalangadu, while a Tiruttani–Moore Market Complex EMU leaving at 12:35 PM will be curtailed before reaching Arakkonam.
A late-night MEMU service from Moore Market Complex to Arakkonam departing at 10:55 PM will also be partially cancelled between Tiruvalangadu and Arakkonam.
Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and check updated schedules before commuting during this period.
