According to the Chennai Meteorological Centre, a trough extending from West Bengal to the Gulf of Mannar is influencing the current weather pattern, leading to rainfall activity across the state.

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in:
- South Tamil Nadu districts
- North coastal Tamil Nadu
- Puducherry and Karaikal regions
However, some northern interior districts may experience dry weather conditions.
