Diwali 2026: Maraimalai Nagar Temporary Bus Stand – Routes, Free Bus Services and Passenger Facilities

A temporary bus stand is being set up in Maraimalai Nagar to manage the rush of passengers travelling from Chennai to their hometowns for Diwali 2026. The arrangement aims to reduce crowding at the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus in Kilambakkam and ease traffic congestion on the Chennai–Tiruchirappalli National Highway.

The Tamil Nadu Transport Department has made special arrangements for people travelling to their hometowns for the festival. Special buses are scheduled to operate from November 5. As part of these arrangements, the temporary bus stand in Maraimalai Nagar will serve passengers travelling to several destinations in the Cauvery delta region.
