Gold prices in Chennai have increased on October 28, 2026, according to the latest Madras Jewellers and Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA) rate update. The price of 22-carat gold has risen by ₹60 per gram, while 18-carat gold has increased by ₹50 and 14-carat gold by ₹40 per gram. Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged at ₹220 per gram.

18-carat gold (1 gram): ₹10,800 Up ₹50

22-Carat Gold Price Increases in Chennai

The price of 22-carat gold has increased by ₹60 per gram, reaching ₹13,195. Consequently, the price of one sovereign (8 grams) has risen by ₹480 to ₹1,05,560.

Similarly, 18-carat gold is now priced at ₹10,800 per gram following an increase of ₹50. The price of 14-carat gold has also climbed by ₹40 to ₹8,630 per gram.

In contrast, silver prices remain stable at ₹220 per gram.
