Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026: Vijay’s TVK Surges Ahead, Leads in Over 100 Constituencies
Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged as a dominant force in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Results 2026, leading in more than 100 constituencies in early trends from the April 23 polls.
The party has delivered a strong performance across the state, making significant inroads into traditional strongholds of the Dravidian parties. TVK has particularly excelled in northern districts such as Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, and Thiruvallur, showcasing its growing urban support base.
In central Tamil Nadu, TVK has established a strong presence in districts including Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, and Mayiladuthurai.
The party has also made notable gains in southern regions, with strong leads in Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi. In a key development, TVK has performed strongly even in areas considered traditional strongholds of the DMK, including multiple segments of Madurai city.
Additionally, TVK candidates are leading in several constituencies across the delta districts such as Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai, along with parts of Salem.
The party has also made inroads into Kanyakumari, a region traditionally seen as a Congress stronghold, indicating a broader statewide shift in voter preference.
With counting still underway, TVK’s strong early performance signals a major political shift in Tamil Nadu.
