Keep on keeping on... - Morning Thought by J Sampath, Founder and CEO of JB Soft System

A gardener waters a seed long before there is a leaf to admire. Each morning, there is something simple and worthwhile to do. And one day, often when the gardener is thinking about something else, a little green shoot appears.

Much of what matters in life grows this way. Trust grows each time we keep our word. Skill grows each time we practise with care. A relationship grows each time we give someone our full attention. Every one of these actions is worth doing today, even as we look forward to what it may bring tomorrow.

It is natural to want good results. A goal gives us direction and something to look forward to. We can look forward to it with hope and still enjoy the work in front of us. There is a quiet satisfaction in helping a customer make a good decision, doing a job properly, or keeping a promise we made to ourselves. That satisfaction is already ours at the end of the day.

Over time, doing the right thing becomes part of who we are. People learn they can count on us. We learn we can count on ourselves. And when the results come, we get to enjoy them knowing how much care went into them.

This morning, do the good that is in your hands. Do it with care, take joy in doing it well, and give it time to grow.
