American Vision Care Center Announces AI-Enabled Vision Care Centre in Chennai

American Vision Care Center has announced the inauguration of its first AI-enabled vision care centre in Chennai, marking a step towards integrating artificial intelligence into eye care services.

The inauguration ceremony was scheduled for October 20, 2026, with events planned at two locations in Valasaravakkam. The first programme was scheduled from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at No. 50, Arcot Road, opposite Metro Rail Pillar 184. A second event was scheduled for 11:00 AM at Jothi Indra Function Hall, No. 138, Ramasamy Salai, Valasaravakkam.

The invitation listed P. Venkataramanan, Tamil Nadu Minister for Food and Civil Supplies; Dr. Thol. Thirumavalavan, Member of Parliament for Chidambaram and founder of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK); and actress Sanjana Singh as chief guests.

The event was to be hosted by Dr. Prakash, FRCS (UK), DNB, DO and MBBS, a Ratan Tata Fellow and Founder and Chief Eye Surgeon of American Eye Care Center.

The new centre`s AI-enabled approach highlights the growing role of technology in healthcare. Artificial intelligence can support certain aspects of eye screening, image analysis and clinical decision-making when appropriately implemented under professional supervision.
