Tamil Nadu Fills 112 Grade-II Principal Posts in Government Colleges

The Tamil Nadu Higher Education Department has filled 112 vacant Grade-II Principal posts in government arts and science colleges through an online counselling process.

According to an order dated August 31, the appointments were made through a transparent online counselling system to ensure fairness and prevent malpractice.

As many as 129 professors had approached the courts seeking appointment to Principal posts. Following court directions, their eligibility was reviewed and qualified candidates were shortlisted.

The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education then gave eligible professors the opportunity to select their preferred colleges through online counselling.

Based on their choices, 112 associate professors have been promoted and appointed as Grade-II Principals in government colleges across Tamil Nadu.

The department said the online process was adopted to ensure a fair and transparent system for the selection and posting of principals.
