Tamil Nadu is currently experiencing intense heat conditions, with temperatures rising significantly above normal levels across several districts.
Interior regions are among the worst affected, with Karur Paramathi recording 105°F, while Vellore and Erode touched 104°F. Areas including Madurai Airport, Namakkal, and Tirupattur registered temperatures around 102°F. Cities such as Coimbatore, Salem, and Dharmapuri also recorded temperatures exceeding 100°F.
The weather department has indicated that temperatures may remain around 3°C above normal until Friday, continuing the heatwave-like conditions.
At the same time, meteorological forecasts suggest the possibility of light rainfall in select coastal and western regions over the coming days, offering partial relief in isolated areas.
