Dr. K. Anand Kumar Receives FABA Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. K. Anand Kumar, Managing Director of Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), has received the prestigious FABA Lifetime Achievement Award from the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) for his contributions to biotechnology, vaccine research and manufacturing, and human and animal healthcare.

The award recognises his leadership in strengthening India`s vaccine ecosystem and making quality vaccines accessible and affordable. Under his leadership, IIL has continued to support India`s self-reliance in human and animal vaccines, public health and disease prevention.

Previous recipients of the award include Serum Institute of India Chairman Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, former ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bhargava and former WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan.

Dr. Anand Kumar expressed gratitude for the recognition and acknowledged the contributions of scientists, healthcare professionals and the IIL team. He emphasised the importance of research, innovation and indigenous vaccine development in addressing future health challenges.
