MK Stalin Declares ₹10,000 Cash; Actor Vijay Reports ₹404 Crore Movable Assets in Election Affidavits

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and actor-politician Vijay have disclosed details of their assets in their election affidavits, offering a clear contrast in their financial profiles.

Contesting from Kolathur, MK Stalin stated that he has just ₹10,000 in cash on hand, while his wife Durga holds ₹40,000. As per his affidavit, Stalin reported an annual income of ₹30.59 lakh, while his wife earned ₹5.33 lakh last year.

In terms of assets, Stalin declared movable assets worth ₹3.30 crore in his name and ₹1.32 crore in his wife’s name, totaling ₹4.62 crore. His immovable assets—including agricultural land and residential properties—are valued at ₹2.96 crore, while his wife owns properties worth ₹2.11 crore. Altogether, the couple’s total assets amount to approximately ₹9.69 crore. He also stated that neither he nor his wife has any loans or pending criminal cases.

On the other hand, TVK leader Vijay, who is contesting from Perambur, has declared significantly higher assets. According to his affidavit, he holds ₹2 lakh in cash, while his wife Sangeetha has ₹1 lakh.

Vijay reported movable assets worth ₹404.58 crore, including bank deposits and investments. His immovable assets—such as buildings, houses, and land—are valued at ₹115.13 crore. Additionally, his wife owns movable assets worth ₹15.51 crore and immovable assets worth ₹2.50 crore.

The affidavit also reveals that Vijay owns multiple luxury vehicles, including BMW, Lexus, Toyota Vellfire, Maruti Swift, and TVS XL. He has declared 883 grams of gold worth ₹1.20 crore, while his wife owns diamond jewellery weighing 135 carats. The family also owns two bungalows in Kodaikanal.

Vijay stated that he has no personal loans but has extended loans to family members, including ₹3.02 crore to his father S. A. Chandrasekhar, ₹12.60 crore to his wife, ₹8.71 lakh to his mother Shoba, and ₹3 crore to associate Bussy Anand.

Both leaders have confirmed that there are no criminal cases against them, as per their affidavits.

As Tamil Nadu heads toward the upcoming Assembly elections, these disclosures have drawn public attention, highlighting the financial backgrounds of key political figures.
