Online permission for film shoots from now on

The Tamil Nadu government is working to modernise the permission process for film shootings, with plans to allow producers to apply for permissions online.

Speaking at the general body meeting of the Tamil Film Active Producers Association, Minister A. Rajmohan said producers should not have to visit the Secretariat in person to obtain shooting-related permissions.

Under the proposed system, producers who submit the required shooting details and apply for permission could receive approval through an automated process. The move is aimed at making the permission procedure more convenient and reducing the need for in-person visits.

The Tamil Film Active Producers Association had previously called for a single-window system to streamline shooting permissions at government-owned locations.
