Tamil Nadu Weather: Rain Likely for Next 2 Days, Says Chennai Weather Centre

A trough extending from South Telangana to the Gulf of Mannar through Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu is prevailing at around 0.9 km above sea level, according to the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).

Due to this weather system, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in the Western Ghats districts over the next two days. Other parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal may also receive isolated light rain with thunderstorms.

In Chennai and its suburbs, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy today. Some parts of the city may receive light rain with thunderstorms and lightning during the evening or night.

The maximum temperature in Chennai is expected to remain around 36–37°C, while the minimum temperature may be around 26–27°C.
