Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hiked in Chennai

Oil companies have released the latest cooking gas cylinder prices today, September 1, which marks the first day of the month.

Accordingly, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Chennai has increased by Rs. 10.50 and is now being sold at Rs. 2,916.50.

However, there has been no change in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder, which continues to be sold at Rs. 957.50.

Oil companies such as HPCL and Indian Oil determine cooking gas cylinder prices based on global market conditions, changes in crude oil prices, port charges, customs duties, freight charges, GST, and other expenses.

More than 80 per cent of India`s crude oil requirement is met through imports. If crude oil prices rise due to global political tensions or production cuts, fuel prices in India may also increase.

It is noteworthy that cylinder prices have been rising since the war between Iran and the United States began at the end of February.
