Parandur Airport Project to Be Dropped, New Airport Site to Be Selected Soon

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has announced that the Parandur airport project will be dropped and that a suitable alternative location for the state’s new airport will be identified soon.

Making the announcement under Rule 110 in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister said the government would soon select a new site for the proposed airport.

The announcement comes as the state continues its efforts to develop additional aviation infrastructure to meet the growing demand for air travel.

Women’s Free Bus Travel Scheme to Be Expanded

Chief Minister Vijay also announced that the free bus travel scheme for women will be expanded. The move is aimed at extending the benefits of affordable and accessible public transport to more women across Tamil Nadu.

Vetri Payanam Scheme to Be Expanded

The Chief Minister further announced that the Vetri Payanam scheme will be expanded from October 2. The expansion is expected to provide greater access to the programme and benefit more people across the state.

The announcements covering the new airport project, women’s free bus travel scheme and Vetri Payanam scheme were made by the Chief Minister under Rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
