Chennai Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Cut by ₹200; Domestic Cylinder Rate Unchanged

The price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by ₹200 in Chennai from August 1, bringing the new retail price down to ₹2,906. Meanwhile, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at ₹957.50.

Oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise LPG cylinder prices on the first day of every month based on international crude oil prices and fluctuations in the Indian rupee against the US dollar.

Following the latest revision, the commercial LPG cylinder has become significantly cheaper, providing relief to restaurants, hotels, and other businesses that rely heavily on commercial gas cylinders. The price reduction comes after commercial LPG rates had risen sharply in recent months.

Last month, the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by ₹172.50, bringing the price in Chennai down from ₹3,283 to ₹3,106. With the latest ₹200 reduction, the cylinder now costs ₹2,906.

However, there is no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder, which continues to be sold at ₹957.50 in Chennai.
