The Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 celebrations are being organised along the banks of the Krishna River at Punnami Ghat. Following the response to last year`s event, the Andhra Pradesh government has planned this year`s festival for a week, beginning October 13.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, along with leaders from other southern states and chief ministers from across the country, to participate in the celebrations.

Vijay has accepted the invitation and is attending the inaugural event in Vijayawada. The festival is part of the state`s efforts to promote the historic city and encourage development and coordination with neighbouring states.

During his visit, Vijay is also scheduled to offer prayers at the renowned Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada. The temple, located on Indrakeeladri Hill, is one of the city`s prominent religious landmarks.

Since becoming Chief Minister, Vijay has visited several places of worship. During the Assembly election campaign, he visited St. Antony`s Church in Tiruchirappalli East, where he reportedly lit a candle and prayed. He also offered prayers at the Pachanaachi Amman Temple in the constituency.

Before the election results were announced, Vijay visited the Tiruchendur Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Tamil Nadu for darshan. He later visited the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Maharashtra.

His visit to Andhra Pradesh combines participation in a major cultural event with a scheduled religious visit to the Kanaka Durga Temple.
