Maduranthakam By - election: Chief Minister Vijay to Hold Grand Campaign Today

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C. Joseph Vijay is scheduled to campaign in the Madurantakam Assembly constituency today, September 25, ahead of the October 6 by-election. He is expected to address a public meeting near the Athur toll plaza in Chengalpattu district at around 3 PM.

Vijay is campaigning in support of TVK candidate K. Maragatham Kumaravel in the constituency.

QR Pass Required for Entry

According to the arrangements announced by the party, the campaign meeting has been organised only for people who have obtained permission under the police guidelines. Entry is restricted to 5,000 people who have been issued QR-code-based passes.

People without the designated QR entry pass will not be permitted to enter the venue. The party has also asked those without passes to follow the event through television and social media livestreams instead.

Restrictions for Certain Groups

As a safety precaution, QR passes have not been issued to pregnant women, children, school students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and people who are unwell, according to the party`s announcement. Drinking water and medical facilities have also been arranged for those attending the event.

Security arrangements have been strengthened around the venue in view of the campaign meeting.
