Vinayagar Chaturthi Holiday: Omni Bus Fares Surge Up to 3 Times in Tamil Nadu
Omni bus fares have increased sharply ahead of Vinayagar Chaturthi and the consecutive holiday period, leaving passengers shocked.
The fare from Chennai to Coimbatore, which is usually around ₹1,000, has reportedly increased to nearly ₹3,000. Meanwhile, the Chennai–Kanyakumari omni bus fare has risen to around ₹6,000.
The steep increase in omni bus ticket prices during the Vinayagar Chaturthi holiday has caused concern among passengers planning to travel from Chennai to various destinations across Tamil Nadu.
