Chennai Residents Can Now Pay Property Tax and Water Charges via WhatsApp

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has urged residents to make use of its official WhatsApp service to pay property tax, water charges and sewerage charges quickly and conveniently without any delay.

The civic body stated that more than 70% of taxpayers are already using online platforms to pay taxes. To further simplify the process, GCC has expanded its WhatsApp-based services, allowing citizens to access and pay various civic charges directly through their mobile phones.

Residents can use the GCC`s official WhatsApp number 94450 61913 to pay property tax, water and sewerage charges 24x7. The platform also enables users to check billing details and access several other civic services.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at improving digital governance, reducing queues at offices and making civic services more accessible to Chennai residents.
