Veterinary parasitology plays an important role not only in protecting animals but also in safeguarding farmers, livestock-based livelihoods and public health.

Prof. Dr. Sangaran`s academic and research interests have included the diagnosis and control of parasitic and zoonotic diseases, including cystic echinococcosis, a disease of significance to both animal and human health.

Through teaching, laboratory research and scientific guidance, he has contributed to strengthening knowledge and awareness surrounding parasitic diseases affecting livestock and other animals.

His involvement in the wider professional community has also extended beyond the university, including his association with the Asian Association of Veterinary Parasitology (AAVP/APAVP).
