Mobile Phones, Cameras Banned at Thiruthani Murugan Temple from September 1: New Restrictions for Devotees

New restrictions will come into effect for devotees visiting Thiruthani Murugan Temple from September 1. Accordingly, mobile phones, cameras and other electronic devices will not be allowed inside the temple.

Several restrictions are being implemented at major temples under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department in Tamil Nadu, keeping devotees` convenience and safety in mind. As part of this initiative, the restriction will also come into effect at Thiruthani Murugan Temple from September 1.

At Thiruthani Murugan Temple, one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan, devotees visiting for darshan will not be permitted to carry mobile phones, cameras or other electronic devices inside the temple premises.

The temple administration is making arrangements to safely store mobile phones, cameras and other belongings brought by devotees. For this purpose, security rooms are being set up at the entrances of the hill temple.
