CMRL Invites Tender for Thiru Vi Ka Park Maintenance at Shenoy Nagar Metro Station

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has invited bids for comprehensive maintenance, repair and painting works at Thiru Vi Ka Park, located above Shenoy Nagar Metro Station. The contract will be valid for 730 days (two years), with the deadline for bid submission set for September 17, 2026. Bids will remain valid for 180 days from the submission date.

The scope of work includes maintaining the park’s water supply and drainage systems, along with regular inspection, cleaning and maintenance of pipes, valves, fittings, pumps and water tanks. The selected contractor will also be responsible for promptly repairing any damage or malfunction.

According to a CMRL official, water quality will be regularly tested to identify possible contamination, while all systems will be monitored to ensure proper functioning and prevent disruptions or safety hazards.

The new CMRL maintenance tender follows the expiry of an earlier contract worth ₹4.59 crore, which was awarded to Quess Corp Limited in November 2023.

Thiru Vi Ka Park was renovated and reopened in April 2023 after CMRL took over the park from the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) for the construction of the underground Shenoy Nagar Metro Station. The park is currently open to the public from 5 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 9 pm every day.
