Major power shutdown in Pakistan
Pakistan�s Hub Power Company in Balochistan developed a fault which resulted in a blackout in cities across the country including Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Lahore. The power shut down at 11.30pm on Sunday. Electricity has been restored in some parts.
According to Islamabad Electric Supply Company CEO Javed Parvez, �The HUBCO (Hub Power Company) plant developed a fault and the load was transferred to the Mangla and Tarbela hydel projects but they tripped. After that, several smaller powerhouses tripped.�
