Dry climate leads to migration of animals
The Nilgiris are facing very dry weather since the monsoon was not satisfactory. The effect is worst in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. It has been noticed that animals and birds in the sanctuary are migrating towards greener pastures.
The Forest Dept. is taking steps to prevent this migration by providing clean water through tanker lorries. The water is filled into spots like ponds that the fauna frequent.
