Rs 500 can be the minimum balance to get an ATM card in post office

Now a person can get an ATM card if he has a minimum balance of Rs 500 in his postal savings account. Earlier the minimum balance was Rs 5000. ATM machines are functioning in the Head Post  Offices located in T Nagar, Anna Salai, Mylapore, St Thomas Mount and Tambaram. ATM cards are being issued to customers who have postal savings account. It was earlier mentioned that an account holders should have Rs 5000 as minimum  amount to acquire an ATM card. Now it has been decided to issue ATM card if a person has Rs 500 as minimum balance.
