Air India Express Resumes Tiruchy–Sharjah Flight Service After Suspension
Air India Express has resumed its Tiruchy–Sharjah flight service after a temporary suspension caused by the conflict in the Gulf region. The restoration of the route has brought relief to passengers who were affected by the disruption in international travel.
The first flight following the resumption carried 158 passengers from Tiruchirappalli to Sharjah. The airline had suspended operations on the route from February 28 due to the evolving situation in the Gulf and had stated that services would remain halted until further notice.
With operations restarting on June 7, passengers travelling between Tamil Nadu and the UAE can once again benefit from direct connectivity on this important international route. Tiruchirappalli International Airport serves several overseas destinations, including Singapore, Malaysia, Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Sri Lanka.
Airport sources said the resumption of the Tiruchy–Sharjah service has received a positive response from passengers, particularly from the large number of expatriates and business travellers who depend on the route.
