Free Annual Medical Check-Up Camp Conducted at KK Nagar and Ayanavaram ESI Hospitals in Chennai

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), functioning under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, has launched a free annual medical check-up camp for workers registered under the ESI scheme.

As part of this nationwide initiative that began on May 7, free health check-up camps are currently being conducted at the ESI Hospitals in KK Nagar and Ayanavaram, Chennai. The camp will soon be extended to the ESI Hospital in Sriperumbudur as well.

Under this year-long free medical screening programme, registered workers can undergo several important health tests at no cost. These include:

- Blood tests
- Liver function tests
- Kidney function tests
- Chest X-ray
- ECG
- Thyroid screening

Speaking at a meeting held at the Chennai ESIC Regional Office, Regional Director Venugopal stated that annual medical check-ups have been made mandatory under the new labour laws.

He also urged ESI-registered workers above 40 years of age to make use of the free medical facilities available at ESI hospitals.
