Southern Railway Announces Change in Trichy - Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express
The Southern Railway has announced a temporary change in the operation of the Trichy - Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express, affecting passengers travelling on March 30, 2026.
Train No. 22627, which usually runs from Tiruchirappalli to Thiruvananthapuram, will be partially cancelled on the specified date. Instead of completing its full journey, the train will operate only up to Tirunelveli, and the service between Tirunelveli and Thiruvananthapuram will remain cancelled.
In the return direction, Train No. 22628 (Thiruvananthapuram–Trichy Intercity Express) will also be partially cancelled. The train will not run between Thiruvananthapuram and Tirunelveli, and will instead begin its journey from Tirunelveli at 2:30 PM towards Tiruchirappalli.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check updated schedules before travelling and make alternative arrangements if they are planning to travel beyond Tirunelveli.
This temporary change is part of operational adjustments by Indian Railways to ensure smooth functioning of services.
