Bullet Train Proposed Between Hyderabad and Chennai
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has proposed introducing a bullet train service from Shamshabad, near Hyderabad, to Chennai. Shamshabad is home to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, making it a key transport hub.
During a meeting with officials, the Chief Minister reviewed pending railway projects and discussed new proposals to meet future transport needs. He supported the idea of a railway line connecting the proposed ‘Bharat Future City’ near Hyderabad to Machilipatnam port in Andhra Pradesh via Amaravati, the state’s capital.
Reddy also instructed officials to prepare fresh proposals for new railway lines and stressed the importance of a ‘Regional Ring Rail’ around Hyderabad, to complement the planned Regional Ring Road (RRR).
