The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers� Federation launched its brand Aavin�s masala buttermilk in tetra packs on Monday. The Federation also launched salted table butter and badam milkshake.
�Over the last two years, milk production had increased in the State. In the city, a total of 11.25 lakh litres of milk are sold on a daily basis. In February, milk shakes in seven flavours and milk in four flavours
were launched. A total of 4.5 lakh packs of 200 ml each are sold every month in the cityďż˝, said V. Moorthy, Minister for Dairy Development.
Aavin�s masala buttermilk has been very popular. Till now, it has been sold in polythene satchets that have to consumed within a day. However, the new tetra packs, which are priced at Rs. 10 each, have a shelf life of 120 days.
