Smart meters tested in three places in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited have started testing smart meters in three places in Chennai.
Smart meters have been installed in three places including Chintadripet. This will be monitored. Only if these smart meters work with accuracy than it will be installed in other places.
With these smart meters, the readings will be accurate and the reading can be noted in the office instead of going to each house. If a consumer does not pay the bill, the power can be disconnected in the office itself.
These meters will be monitored for the next three months and if it works satisfactorily, then it will be installed in commercial places.
