Tomorrow is the last day to pay property tax!

September 30, 2026, is the last date to pay property tax without penalty to the Greater Chennai Corporation for the first half of the 2026–27 financial year.

Property tax, along with licence fees and other taxes, is one of the major sources of revenue for the Greater Chennai Corporation. The Corporation collects property tax twice a year through its Revenue and Finance Department.

Property owners can pay their taxes directly at zonal offices and ward offices. Payments can also be made through the Corporation`s official website, WhatsApp services and QR codes.

For the first half of the 2026–27 financial year, property tax must be paid by September 30. If the tax is not paid within the prescribed deadline, 1% interest per month will be charged as a penalty.

Property owners can make payments through the Greater Chennai Corporation website, mobile app, WhatsApp number 9445061913, and through the Corporation`s tax collectors.
